Digitally-enabled remote working and client interactions have been a saviour for so many industries, organisations and individuals over the past two years. And hopefully they will bring long-term benefits, enabling more flexible approaches to working and living that would have been inconceivable pre-pandemic. Still, there’s nothing quite like getting out and meeting people face-to-face once more.
In person at GAIM Ops Cayman
So it was great to attend the GAIM Ops conference in Grand Cayman at the end of April, where Deep Pool’s Chief Revenue Officer Roger Woolman and I were delighted to be able to catch up with clients and make new friends.
GAIM Ops Cayman is a key knowledge and networking event for senior ops, compliance and operational due diligence professionals in the alternative investing community. There’s nothing like being able to connect with hundreds of the industry’s leaders in one place. Plus the conference was an opportunity to hear from a range of expert speakers about the most important issues facing our industry, from developments in crypto and ESG to due diligence trends, best practices in fund administration and regulatory change.

After so much time in forced hibernation, it was a wonderful moment. And with one of Deep Pool’s offices located just down the road from the venue, the conference really felt like coming home.
Out on the road at home
Next stop is Adminovate 2022, a full-day forum organised by the Irish Funds Industry Association to be held on 26 May in Dublin (another Deep Pool location).
Adminovate brings together fintech startups, fund administrators, outsourcing firms, middle and back office experts, and industry influencers from the investment operations world to learn and share perspectives on the next wave of industry evolution. The event spotlights the best of what Ireland has to offer the investment funds industry, and is a great place to engage with fellow professionals on the challenges and opportunities coming.

A few days later, on 31 May, we will also be attending and sponsoring a stand at the 2022 Irish Funds Annual Global Funds Conference at the Convention Centre Dublin. The conference draws a wide range of participants from across the international investment funds community and is a highlight in the funds industry calendar. Regulation, crypto assets, trends in private assets, ESG and workplace culture are all on the agenda.
